What’s the best beer in Iceland?
It’s all a matter of taste really so choosing the best beers
can be controversial at times.
Still, the website Ratebeer has a pretty good list of the
top Icelandic Beers worth noting
The top 2, Lava and Garún, I can absolutely agree with as they are both tasty and different.
And because I like the flavor of Stout beers…
Garún is actually my feel-good beer. A beer to drink slowly to enjoy the flavor – and because it is quite strong in alcohol.
Garún is named after the strong, brave heroine of one of Iceland’s most popular folktales “The deacon of Dark River (Myrká).”.
A tale of ghosts, undying love, and life triumphing death.
A story that also reflects elements essential to Iceland’s character: ice, snow, flooding rivers, whirling dark and mysterious creatures.
The same elements inspire this rich and bold Icelandic stout.
Garún is as dark as the tale. It has an intense richness and haunting aroma with notes of chocolate, licorice, and coffee.
It’s an 11.5% Imperial Stout made by Borg Brewery
