My friend and I signed-up for the beer tour on a recent trip to Reykjavik. We hit a few bars around town and learned a bit about the history of Reykjavik along the way. Sampled several great beers and enjoyed the company and conversation throughout the tour!

We had an absolute blast on this tour & highly recommend!! Our guide was Astor and he was fun, knowledgeable about not only the beers we tasted, but where to eat, fun bars, history of Iceland & her culture, and all things in between. The Icelandic beers we tasted were beyond good & Aston was a wealth of information about Iceland's history of prohibition. We loved the 3 bars he took us to for the tastings, and even elected to eat dinner after at the last one (The Bastard Bar - great burger!!!) If you're looking for a fun tour that shows you the town "go-to" places, love to learn local culture in a conversational way, and enjoy great beer - then this is the tour for you!! When we are back this tour will be our night #1 outing! Thanks Aston & Friends of Reykjavík Tour for a great time!

My daughter and I had a wonderful experience on this tour. Our guide, Astor shared a thorough and interesting history of the Beer culture in Iceland. The locations and samples covered the entire spectrum of Icelandic Beers. We even re-visited the locations from the tour because they were so good. We cannot say enough good things about Astor! He made the tour!

Great way to start the trip! Nikki D We scheduled our beer tour early in our trip which was perfect to be introduced to a couple of great local places. During our tour we learned a little about Iceland as well as their history with alcohol. The tour included a wide variety in beer so there is something for everyone. We had a great guide who left us with several recommendation of other things to do and places to eat.

My wife and I went to three different bars in Reykjavik with Valur, who was a great host. We sampled a wide variety of Icelandic beers, talked about the history of the city and the country. Each of the bars was a little different, so we had a interesting selection of places. It was our first night in Reykjavik, and we were able to ask questions about places to see, restaurants to visit, etc. The next day Valur sent an email with many recommendations and links to their websites. Highly recommended, especially for a first time visitor that likes beer.

Our guide, Erla did wonderfully with the two of us chatting pretty much constantly at her. She was full of interesting stories, experiences and facts, both about beer and Icelandic history. Her knowledge of beer was really fantastic and the range (10 in total I think) that we tried during the tour was really varied and interesting. I would strongly recommend this experience as an opportunity to talk at length with a friendly local and of course to sample the fruits of the fast-growing micro-brewary culture in Iceland! Skál!

Spent a few hours on the walking beer tour in Reykjavik. Valur was an outstanding guide! Very knowledgable of the spirit industry in Iceland from ancient brewing to the new explosion of microbrewery beers. I'm not the biggest beer connoisseur and there was such a wide variety to sample, even I enjoyed it. Also had a chance to sample/compare Brennivín and Hvönn... Lots of history and cultural stories included. I swear I was seeing elves by the end of the tour! Highly recommended!

We had a great time with our guide Astor. Our group was seven. A small enough group to be able to meet new people and listen to Astor tell us about the beer drinking history of Iceland. He brought us to some interesting places that served their own craft brews.
