The Reykjavik Pub Crawl – Icelandic Beer Tour
Brings you to some of the best bars in Reykjavik.
On the Reykjavik Pub Crawl, you will taste 10 unique Icelandic craft beers from microbreweries all around Iceland. We base our selection of beers on what‘s on tap when you join our tour.
We are of course happy to cater to your preferences for beer but at the same time encourage you to be adventurous.
Our Reykjavik beer tour is guaranteed to leave you with a warm buzz and with the prices for alcohol like they are in Iceland you can be sure you get value for money by joining our tour.
We will also give you tips on how to save a little bit on drinks while you are here.
If you do not enjoy beer but still want to join The Reykjavik Pub Crawl we can adjust the tour for you, offering you 5 different Icelandic spirits or snaps.
We think that one of the best ways to get a feel for a new city is to sit down and have a few beers with the locals.
You don’t have to be a special beer lover to have fun on our tour and maybe you will even be introduced to a beer style you will love.
The Reykjavik Pub Crawl – Icelandic Beer Tour is your chance to get to know the best Icelandic craft beers for you to enjoy on your trip. Icelandic people have a short, but proud history of making beer (we need to put our lovely, pure glacial water to good use). We will tell you about our history of beer, from the Vikings, right through to the resurgence of microbreweries today. Did you know beer was actually banned in Iceland for 74 years. Thankfully, this is not the case anymore! You’ll learn all about this bizarre story, and our unique drinking culture on the tour.
Our group sizes are small or 12 people max so we are able to chat about anything and everything Icelandic, not just about alcoholic drinks
The tour is the perfect way to kick off your night in Reykjavik or make the most of your stopover. You can even pick our brains for the best places to eat after the tour, or where to party if your night is heading that way.
Skál, my friend! (that’s ‘cheers’ in Icelandic).
All drinks are included in the price of the tour. The legal age to purchase alcohol in Iceland is 20 and therefore we only accept people 20 or older on this tour.
(There are no infants or children allowed on this tour because it’s illegal in Iceland to have a person younger than 20 inside the bar.)
There is a really short walk between the bars but please dress warmly; we are in ICE-land after all.
Reviews From Tripadvisor:
„Valur was an incredible guide for the beer tour. He gave great insights into Iceland’s beer history, local customs, and the growing Icelandic microbrew scene. He also gave us great recommendations for restaurants to try while in Iceland. Highly recommend this tour for any beer lover.“
„My daughter and I had a wonderful experience on this tour. Our guide, Astor shared a thorough and interesting history of the Beer culture in Iceland. The locations and samples covered the entire spectrum of Icelandic Beers. We even re-visited the locations from the tour because they were so good.“
„We went on the beer tour our first night in Reykjavik and had a great time! It was the perfect way to acclimate to the city and learn so much more than we would have otherwise. We’ll definitely do it again if we make it back here!“
„Spent a few hours on the walking beer tour in Reykjavik. Valur was an outstanding guide! Very knowledgeable of the spirit industry in Iceland from ancient brewing to the new explosion of microbrewery beers. I’m not the biggest beer connoisseur and there was such a wide variety to sample, even I enjoyed it. Also had a chance to sample/compare Brennivín and Hvönn…
Lots of history and cultural stories included. I swear I was seeing elves by the end of the tour!
„We had a great time taking a beer tour with Valur last Monday! He took us to several local spots, told us all about the history of beer in Iceland, and introduced us to several tasty local brews. We even found our favorite brew through this tour which we continued ordering the rest of the trip. Definitely worth the money, especially since the flight of beer is about $30 on its own, so take the tour and get plenty of beer plus a knowledgeable guide for your money!“
