The Whales of Iceland museum
An entertaining exhibit with real size whales
It would be quite remarkable to walk among the whales right? Well, you actually can in the museum called Whales of Iceland, the largest of its kind in Europe. You will see models of different species of whales in real size, that live around Iceland. There are interactive panels where you can explore the anatomy of the whales, listen to their sounds and try your hand at drawing them. It’s definitely a different museum experience which we highly recommend. Great choice for families with children. The museum is situated down by the old Reykjavik harbor so perfect to combine a sightseeing walking tour with a visit to the museum.
Duration: You can easily spend 2 hours exploring the museum, more or less depending on your enthusiasm.
